The Impulse Of A Force

The impulse of a force is the product of the force and time. From the equation of force,

F = m(v-u)/t

 Ft = mv - mu

 Ft is the Impulse of the force, and as shown above, it is equal to change in momentum (mv - mu).

 The symbol of the Impulse of a force is I.

Therefore, I = Ft = Change in momentum
